Edition 16 | June 15, 2026 - June 21, 2026 | Wine for the Week Ahead

Ok, last week we talked about that lucky, gorgeous Venus and Jupiter conjunction. This week, Venus is still a little bit in the mix because this week, Chiron is moving into Taurus. And Taurus is ruled by Venus.

So what does this mean? Chiron is a minor planet, a relatively newer (or newly discovered) planet, and it represents the wounded healer. It is both about your personal healing and where your core wounds are, and a source of wisdom, guidance, and mentorship for others who need help. And on June 19th, it's moving from Aries, where it's been for the last 8 years, into Taurus.

Taurus is a sign ruled by Venus. It's all about luxury, beauty, and romanticizing your life. It's also slow, grounded, methodical, and material. And not in a consumerism sense but in a physical sense, it's tactile, it's real. All of which means we're entering a period where we need to slow down, where we need to turn to things like the earth, like herbs, to help heal. A time where we need to embrace beauty and little things, and romanticize our life, and have things that are actually real and tangible instead of numbing ourselves in the virtual reality of social media and AI.

This will look slightly different for everyone depending on where Taurus is in your chart, but collectively it's a great time to look for nature for clues, to literally put your feet on the ground, and to tap into the natural abundance around us.

Friday, June 19th, is just the start of this. Chiron will be in Taurus until September, it will pop back into Aries for a bit, and then it will settle back into Taurus in early 2027 and hang out there for the next 8 years. So this is a long transit; it's just the beginning, but it's energy that feels good and feels needed. And we recommend toasting this new energy this Friday with a glass of Riesling.

Dry, off-dry, sweet, sparkling, whatever floats your particular boat. But Riesling is a grape that not only speaks volumes about the places where it's grown, but it's also a wine that makes you slow down. It's clean, it's precise, but it can also be luscious, full, intense, and certainly a bit romantic. It's not quite (Venus is currently in Leo after all), but it is contemplative. It's exactly what this moment and you need.

Tarot Card of the Week

Once again, I would like to note that I pull these cards randomly and independent of the astrology that is happening. And once again, we have a card that fits in very nicely with the themes for this particular week.

The Four of Swords is rest, retreat, and reflection. It’s the quiet pause after struggle, where clarity comes from stillness. And this card is paired with Muscadet. Muscadet is a bracing, saline white from the Loire, feels like a cleansing breath. With its light body and sea spray freshness, it clears the palate and the mind.
