2020 Font Du Vent "Les Promesses" Cotes Du Rhone

Cote du Rhone is typically thought of as the baby of Chateauneuf du Pape, which means that this region offers some of the best values in France. Top varieties here are the same as what you can expect from Chateauneuf including Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise, and Carignane. 

This wine is mainly Grenache with 30% Syrah and just a splash of Counoise. It's full of bright red fruits with notes of fresh currants and red licorice as well as hints of mineral and spice on the finish. This is medium bodied but lean wine with nice, bright acid on the finish. Very easy drinking and perfect for pairing with anything from mushrooms to duck.
