Edition 3 | March 16, 2026 - March 22, 2026 | Wine for the Week Ahead

Okay, there are a lot of different small things going on this week. Nothing big, scary, or totally throwing us off our axis. But, a lot of little moments to pair with some wine. So a win, I guess?

First up, we have two things happening on 3/18. First, there is a new moon in Pisces. New moons in general are a great time to set intentions and plant seeds for something you're trying to grow. A new moon in emotional Pisces means a soft intuitive start to a new lunar cycle. So, for this new moon on Wednesday, set whatever goals feel good to you without rigid planning, and sip some Riesling as you focus on them. It's bright and soft at the same time. It's a fresh start but with a lot of feeling and much less rigidity.

Also, on 3/18 we have Venus in Aries squaring Jupiter in Cancer. This is just a really lovely moment in time. It will amplify good things and it's a great moment for connection. Actually, it's a really good day to be contrarian in how you would normally go about creating a connection. So, before you toast the new moon in the evening you can really amplify your wine Wednesday by sipping on some Gruner Veltliner and trying a different way to make a friend.
Then on the 20th we have the Spring Equinox, the day of balance between light and dark. The day that should actually be what we consider the new year, a fresh start, a clean slate, a new beginning. A day to sip on some bubbles if there ever was one, specifically I would suggest some Blanc de Blancs - crisp, bright, refreshing, delicious.

And finally, on the 22nd we have a Neptune Cazimi, meaning Neptune and the Sun meetup. Whenever a planet and the sun come together it represents a new beginning in the cycle and with Neptune as the planet of idealism and dreams this is the perfect time to plant some seeds for whatever your future ideal dream life looks like. As you daydream and plan that out you can sip on some Arneis while you come up with the ideal versions of your new life. Arneis was a grape that was almost totally extinct by the 1970s until a resurgence gave it a new lease on life. Perfect for all the new beginnings happening this week.

Tarot Card of the Week

This week we're pairing the 10 of Swords with an Oaked Chardonnay. The 10 of swords is a card of endings, painful truths, and the release that comes when there’s nowhere else to go but forward. The Ten of Swords is dramatic, final, and often difficult — but it also signals the clearing away of what no longer serves you.

Rich, full-bodied, and often polarizing, oaked Chardonnay embodies this card’s intensity. Love it or hate it, it makes a strong statement and rarely leaves room for middle ground.

Also, great new beginning energy if we do say so ourselves. And, again these cards aren't pre-planed to pair with the week's astro theme, they are picked at random and tell us what they need to tell us.

If you're into that we have a whole Tarot and Wine Pairing Guide for you if that's what you're into!
