Edition 2 | March 9, 2026 - March 15, 2026 | Wine for the Week Ahead
Alright friends, this week is a bit quieter than last week and a lot quieter than everything that's going on next week. So do with that what you will.
This week the only thing we're really looking at is Mars and the North Node. Specially Mars and the North Node making a conjunction on Friday, March 13th. And a conjunction, or a merger, just means that these two are in the same place at the same time. So they are in the same sign, Pisces, and will be hanging out in the same house in everyone's personal charts if you want to get more specific about what this might mean for you.
But we're talking more generally here, and in general Mars and the North Node coming together means things are getting amped up, they're getting a little over-energized. Basically it's some frenetic energy here. Because Mars is the planet of action. Mars is all about drive and confrontation. If it's not happy Mars can make us feel inflamed and angry, but it also is very helpful when we're trying to pursue our goals.
And Mars has very little strength in Pisces because Mars is the knife and it can't quite make it's point, see what I did there, in the watery, mutable, artistic Pisces. And it's in conjunction with the north node. which represents what you desire in this life.
Basically you know what you want, Mars is there to get you amped up and excited about it, but together you're just kind of bobbing on the waves of Pisces. It doesn't mean it won't happen, it just means you have to surrender to the flow.

In relating a wine to this moment the thing that immediately came to mind was Pet Nat or Pétillant-Naturel, the often unpredictable, highly frenetic sparkling wine style. Pet Nat isn't confined to one specific grape, but it is a very specific style of sparkling wine production. It is made using what's called the Ancestral Method, which essentially involves bottling a wine before fermentation has actually finished.
To get a little sciency just for a second, while fermentation is happening yeast is eating the natural sugars of the grapes and as a result creating alcohol and CO2. Typically fermentation takes place in open tanks so the CO2 just floats off. But, if you put that wine in a bottle, and seal it while it is still fermenting, the CO2 has nowhere to float off to. So it gets trapped in the wine.
This is the science behind all the different ways we get bubbles in wine. It's just that the other methods can actually be controlled. With Pet Nat and the ancestral method winemakers are kind of just guessing. They're bottling and sealing their wines towards the end of the wines initial fermentation, hoping there's enough still left to give them the bubbles they want, but also hoping there's not so much left that their bottle explode.
It's really a give it your best effort but then trust the process and see what happens kind of wine - just like Mars and the North Node in Pisces. So on Friday, pop some Pet Nat (maybe over the sink because you really never know) and see where this energy takes you.
Tarot Card of the Week

Would you believe me if I told you that I didn't plan this? I pulled a card from the deck thinking about this week, but I didn't yet know what the astrology was going to say or what wine I would put with it. So I think this is just yet another sign that the universe wants us drinking Pet Nat this week. And probably learning to be better about going with the flow.
The Fool is about new beginnings, leaps of faith, curiosity, and trusting the journey without knowing exactly where it leads. It’s playful, adventurous, and full of possibility. Pet Nat is the wine equivalent of a spontaneous road trip — lightly sparkling, often unfiltered, sometimes unpredictable, but always fun. Just like The Fool, Pét-Nat doesn’t take itself too seriously, and that’s the point.
