Edition 7 | April 13, 2026 - April 19, 2026 | Wine for the Week Ahead
Alright, this week there are a handful of little things happening and one kind of massive thing and almost all of it is happening in Aries. So I'm going to run through a couple of the smaller things quickly and then will focus on the big astrology happening at the end of the week.
We're kicking things off on Monday the 13th with a piece of really nice astrology - Venus is sextiling Jupiter. And regardless of anything else that's happening, this is just a really nice, harmonious and lucky astrological aspect. It's a little bit of a “luck window” for things like love, money and harmonious connections. So we very much recommend that you start the week off with a glass of Prosecco. Not expensive, not too high alcohol, just bubbly sunshine to bask in the luck.
Then on Friday the 17th we have a new moon in Aries. New moons in general represent fresh starts and a great time for setting intentions. And a new moon in Aries, the sign that represents the astrological new year and the beginning of the Zodiac, is certainly the right time for that. As you set your intentions with this new moon sip on some Grillo. Grillo is an Italian white wine from Sicily that is bright, zippy, and citrusy. A clean birth wine for a clean, fresh reset.
And then, right at the end of the week on April 19th we get to the big, rare, kind of messy astrology. This is the day that Mars and Saturn come together in Aries. And we will talk about what that means specifically, but I also think that it is important to note that now the Sun, Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune are all in Aries. That's a lot of planets, including a lot of slower moving outer planets, coming together in one sign.
So let's talk specifically about Mars and Saturn coming together here. Mars is the planet of drive, action and aggression and Saturn is the planet of discipline, restriction and delay. So when they meet in Aries (a fast-moving fire sign) it creates both internal and external resistance. Basically, this is a time when things sloooow down. A lot. At a time when we're really trying to get things done. So it's frustrating. Things that you're putting your effort towards require more time and patience. External obstacles are going to come out of nowhere and while your energy will feel high, results will be slow.
So don't get burnt out or overwhelmed, stay the course and focus on the end goal. Don't make impulsive decisions that are driven by the frustration of what seems like nothing happening. Don't give up on projects that you feel passionate about early. But also be careful not to overwork yourself. Just because there are delays now, doesn't mean your ideas or your end goal isn't worth it. Believe in it whether you see the results immediately or not.
And while you're powering through the frustration, focusing on your goals, and taking breaks when you need it to avoid the overwhelm, break out a glass (or let's be real a bottle) of Sangiovese. Sangiovese, the Italian red, really embodies Aries energy - it's bold, independent, and a bit arrogant. But it also is a wine that forces you to stop and think, to take a moment. It's a varietal that has a deep history, a varietal that has weathered the test of time. And frankly the perfect wine to both embody the energy of the week and to give you a bit of a reprieve from everything that's happening.
