Edition 8 | April 20, 2026 - April 26, 2026 | Wine for the Week Ahead

Hi Friends, Hopefully everyone made it through the somewhat messy astrology of last week. A lot of those same themes are still spilling into this week but in a little bit of a different way. Overall, I would say the theme of this week and everything that's happening astrologically is all about communication.

On Monday April 20th Mercury joins Mars and Saturn in Aries. So everything we talked about last week, the hard thing that you're committing to doing, that's still here. The goal that you're working towards and aiming toward despite some slow going or frustration is still the vibe but now in addition to that, you're talking about it. Mercury is the planet of communication and as it joins all the other planets and aspects and points hanging out in Aries it wants us to start talking about the hard thing. We're both talking about why it's difficult and why it's important.

And then, unrelated to everything happening in Aries, towards the end of the week on the 25th, Uranus re-enters Gemini. This is another major signature for the year. And while it be separate from Mars and Saturn and Mercury in Aries, it is still very much about communication. The Signature of Uranus in Gemini is a change in the ways in which we communicate. That means innovations in social media, in television, in publishing. Mass communications as a whole are going through a change over the next few years. Because while Uranus was briefly in Gemini for a little while back in 2025, this move on the 25th marks an official change and Uranus is going to back hanging out here until 2032.

All of which means this is the time to talk about the hard things, to push out your radical ideas, to spark some controversy or name the elephant in the room. You know that old saying “The pen is mightier than the sword” Uranus in Gemini is asking us to put that to the test.

So for both Monday when Mercury joins everyone hanging out in Aries and for later in the week as we begin the new chapter of Uranus in Gemini, you want to pair a wine that helps get the conversation going. That's where Gamay comes in. This is a lighter red, it's fun and fruity and interesting but doesn't have so much going on that it distracts you from the task (or conversation) at hand. Gamay has an interesting history, it has its own story to tell, but it also isn't taking itself too seriously. It's here to have fun, to be the life of the party, to make the joke that makes everyone laugh and also puts people at ease. So whether you're cracking open a slightly more serious bottle on Monday as you talk about your hard work or dip into a carbonic option on Saturday as things start to get innovative, Gamay is your girl.

Tarot Card of the Week

The Five of Cups represents grief, loss, and disappointment, but also the choice to shift perspective and see what remains rather than only what’s gone.

The wine pairing for this card is Dry Madeira, a fortified wine marked by oxidative aging and bittersweet complexity, mirroring sorrow tempered by resilience. Its depth acknowledges pain, but its enduring nature reminds us of strength in survival.
